The Full Story

How David Built The Price Group

David Price grew up on government assistance. His family relied on food stamps and public housing. There was no trust fund, no connections, no business education waiting for him.

At 18, he enlisted in the United States Army. The military taught him discipline, structure, and the ability to execute under pressure. Skills that would later define how he built The Price Group.

After his service, David entered the insurance industry with no experience, no leads, and no mentor. He started making cold calls from a card table in a spare bedroom, earning $7.25 an hour at his day job while building his insurance business on the side.

Within his first year, David crossed $500,000 in production. Within three years, he had passed the seven-figure mark. But what set David apart was not just his own sales numbers. It was his obsession with building a system that other people could replicate.

In 2018, David founded The Price Group as an Insurance Marketing Organization headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida. His thesis was simple: the insurance industry was stuck in the 1990s. Agents were still buying shared leads, driving to kitchen-table appointments, and getting minimal training. David believed technology, virtual sales, and real mentorship could change everything.

He was right. The Price Group has since grown to over $100 million in total production, with 1,377+ agents hired and 418+ in active production. The organization operates in all 50 states, and agents sell exclusively by phone. No door knocking. No face-to-face appointments.

David personally leads daily live training sessions, participates in the Virtual Call Center with agents, and maintains an open-door policy that is unusual for a founder of an organization this size. He is a Forbes Business Council contributor with 15+ published articles on insurance sales, entrepreneurship, and business growth.

The Systems David Built

The 555 System

The daily operating system behind every successful TPG agent: 5 presentations, 50 leads, 500 dials per week, plus 8 AM daily roleplay. Simple inputs that produce predictable results.

Agent Launch System 30 (ALS-30)

A structured 30-day onboarding program that takes brand-new agents from licensed to live on the phones. Daily live training, recorded modules, scripts, role-play, and direct mentorship from senior agents and leadership.

The 4 Skills Framework

The path from agent to agency owner: Sell, Hire, Train, Duplicate. Every agent starts by mastering sales. Those who choose to build a team learn recruiting, training, and duplication. Building a team is always optional. The Price Group is not an MLM.

Virtual Call Center (VCC)

Agents dial together in real time with live support from experienced closers. The VCC combines the energy of a bullpen with the flexibility of working from home.

Philosophy

What David Believes

Never Settle.

That is David's personal motto and the culture he has built at The Price Group. It means never settling for average results, average training, average leads, or an average life. It means building a business you can be proud of, not one that just pays the bills.

People First, Always.

Revenue follows culture, not the other way around. David built The Price Group around the belief that if you take care of your agents, your agents take care of the business. Daily training, real mentorship, transparent pricing, and a 4.9-star Google rating from the agents themselves.

Technology as an Equalizer.

AI-powered leads and virtual sales mean a single mom in rural Georgia has the same opportunity as someone with connections in Manhattan. David built The Price Group's technology stack to remove geography, background, and connections as barriers to entry.

Not an MLM.

The Price Group is structured as a traditional IMO. Agents are independent 1099 contractors who build their own books of business. Building a team is optional. Commissions come from carrier-issued policies, not from recruiting. This distinction matters, and David makes it loudly and often.
